Early detection through regular monitoring is crucial for effective management and prevention of associated health risks.

We encourage all adults, especially those aged 40 and over, to have their blood pressure checked at least once every five years. Regular checks are vital as blood pressure tends to rise with age, increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

• If you are aged 40 years or older and you do not currently have a diagnosis of hypertension.
• If you are under 40 and have a recognised family history of hypertension.
• If you have been referred by your GP for the measurement of blood pressure.

1. Initial Consultation: A pharmacist will measure your blood pressure using a cuff placed around your upper arm.
2. Results Discussion:
   • Normal Reading: We'll offer advice on healthy habits to maintain your blood pressure.
   • High Reading: We may recommend ABPM to monitor your blood pressure over 24 hours.
   • Very High Reading: An urgent referral to your GP will be made for further evaluation and management.
3. Follow-Up: All readings and relevant information will be shared with your GP to ensure continuity of care.
